Should You Grade Your Card?

Not every card is worth grading. The general rule:

Grade a card if the graded value minus grading cost is significantly more than the raw value.

The Grading ROI Formula

ROI = (Expected Graded Value - Grading Cost - Raw Value) / Raw Value × 100%

ROI = (Expected Graded Value - Grading Cost - Raw Value) / Raw Value × 100%

Example: A raw Near Mint Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer is worth $60. A PSA 10 is worth $180. Grading costs $30.

ROI = ($180 - $30 - $60) / $60 × 100% = 150% ROI ✅ Worth grading.

Counter-example: A raw NM Lightning Bolt (Revised) is worth $3. A PSA 10 is worth $15. Grading costs $30.

ROI = ($15 - $30 - $3) / $3 × 100% = -600% ROI ❌ Not worth grading.
